CE For New Students

Continuing education credits or (CE’s) are required in order to maintain licensure in the state of Pennsylvania. 

A minimum of 30 credit hours are required every 2 years for licensed professional counselors (LPC’s) or licensed marriage and family therapists (LMFT’s), or licensed clinical social workers (LCSW’s). 

Of the 30 credit hours every 2 years 3 of those hours must be around ethics. 2 of the hours must be around child abuse and reporting. 

1 hour must be in regards to suicide prevention. 

After collecting all continuing education hours licensed professionals must apply for renewing their license. The cost of renewing the license in Pennsylvania is $95 every two years.

It is important to remember that renewal forms are only available to download during the renewal period from march to February. 

The Pennsylvania Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists and Professional Counselors accepts courses from APA and NBCC approved providers. The CBI Center for Education is proud to be an approved provider.

Be sure to fill out the survey to receive your certificate as proof of completion for your CE credits.
